So another resolution I made for this summer was to make something every day. In June I successfully did that, until we left for Greece. Since I have little access to supplies and such here, I decided to take a hiatus. But here are some photos of the things I made during the beginning of the month:

Friday, June 7

I made these shorts out of a dress I found at the thrift store. I really liked the tiny pattern and trim on the bottom, but the dress was an awkward shape, so I decided to deconstruct it for parts. The shorts are really comfy! They are serving me well on this trip because they work as both sleep shorts and daywear.

Saturday, June 8

I found this unicorn and rainbow fabric remnant at JoAnn Fabrics and I had to get it. Since the remnant piece wasn't big enough for anything else, I decided to make another pair of shorts. I really like them! You can"t really see in the photo, but the fabric is covered in glitter, which makes it, like, 48 times better. The only problem is that they get wrinkly quite quickly, so the need to be ironed a lot!

Sunday, June 9

Okay, so I got a bit carried away with the shorts... These ones are made with some lace I found at the thrift store and some random polyester-ish fabric scraps I found. I like the light pink color on the white!

Whoa... I just realized the waistband looks all screwy in the picture. It doesn't actually look like that lol

Monday, June 10

I made a unicorn horn using something along the lines of this tutorial, except that I used flour and water papier mache paste because that is what I had. It's for a super-secret thing that you might see soon-ish!

Tuesday, June 11

Today's thing was a little lame, but in my defense I was distracted by thrift shopping and... um... eating? But I found this plaid skirt at the thrift store and hemmed it, so yeah.

Wednesday, June 12

I made a camera strap cover with some of the extra fabric from my skirt-hemming adventure. It definitely brightens up the black-on black of my camera!

Thursday, June 13

I loved the way my camera strap cover turned out, so I made one for my aunt!
I also made this little zipper pouch for my other aunt!

Friday, June 14

These little notepads are made out of old record covers and bound with the Japanese stab method. I made them for Maggie and me so that we could use them to jot things down on the trip. They have definitely come in handy!

Saturday, June 15
I was supposed to spend Saturday packing and getting everything ready to go, but I hate packing! So I took a little break and worked on my Tarot deck. Here are the cards I made:

Two of these I actually did on Thursday and Friday, but I can't remember which ones! Whatever... And I realized that I haven't posted any pictures of my Tarot cards, so here are the rest of the ones I have finished so far:

Most of the images I used for these are from an old encyclopedia set I found at the thrift store. It is full of awesome photos and illustrations that I was so excited to use! I have finished eleven of the 22 cards in the Major Arcana, and then I have 56 Minor Arcana cards, but those will be a lot faster!

I feel like this is out of order as far as the day I made specific things, but I guess it doesn't really matter! I am really excited to make more things and post more as soon as I get home. A post with photos from Greece coming soon!

It took forever for school to be overwith, but we finally got out on June 6th. So to commemorate the end of the schoolyear and the start of summer,  I painted my toenails and sat on my windowsill. Whoop whoop!

I had (and have) a feeling that this is going to be a brilliant summer

Okay, continuing with the Garden Party pictures... One day I will be a computer genius and I won't have to do these silly things.

Jessica and Andrea showing off their beautiful cupcakes! They were really yummy, but The frosting was kind of weird. Don't look at me...heh heh

Hunter's glorious flower crown (left) She was  going for the "teletubby" look, and I would say she nailed it! Unfortunately I didn't take many photos of everyone's crowns, but you'll just have to take my word for it that they were very beautiful! The best I can do is to show you this photo I took later on of mine:

Did you know that Hunter, Hailey, Andrea, Samantha, and Maggie are contortionists? I think they plan to take their show (entitled "The Human Hashtag Experience") on the road this summer!
Awww... Andrea and Vanessa are so cute!!

When it got dark out, we went down to the firepit and made s'mores! They were delicious (of course)

So that was how we kicked off our June! It was a good start, even though school was not quite over yet. I love doing parties like this and I hope we can do it again!

Gaah! This is confusing! All of the buttons on Blogger are in Greek (wonder why...) and I have just been clicking around to try and find the "new post" button. But I found it! Opa!

Anyways, I made a resolution to blog more this summer and so far I have been doing a terrible job! So today, since we have some downtime at the villa, I am getting caught up. This is all of the posts that I meant to do for June 2013!

Part 1

On the very first day of June, Jessica and I threw our long-awaited garden party. We had been planning it for a while and it turned out great! The food was amazing (thanks to Jessica's mom) and we had a splendid time dancing and making cupcakes and flower crowns and dancing some more!
Ain't no party like a gold/silver pants party! Jessica and I got decked out in our rockin' metallic pants for the occasion.
Anna, Hunter, and Vanessa getting down to some gangsta rap. Here is an example
Hunter is upside-down more than you would think
Just a guideline for any party: jellybeans must be present at all times

Okay... The rest of the photos aren't uploading so I think I have to start a new post. What is technology?
